  This is my favorite movie of 2024 so far. Dev Patel has been a favorite of mine for years and to see him come out with a directorial debut so powerful is inspiring. I also found that the movie was more impactful to anyone with an understanding of the cultural significances of several of the symbolisms shown in the movie. It's been a while since I've gotten to see a movie in theaters with this much passion behind it. I will definitely be going to see Monkey Man again before it leaves theaters.

  I had to rewatch this movie and can confidently say that it wasn't just nostalgia that kept it so high on my list. The story is even better than I remember and having experienced a taste of life myself, it gives me an even better interpretation of Po's journey—great animation from a studio that rarely fails to deliver in that department. Dare I talk about the soundtrack? The legendary Hans Zimmer and John Powell really hit a home run with this one. I can't wait to show this to my kids someday.
