I have seen this movie countless times. I love it despite its flaws and it's among my favorites. However, last night while watching with someone new we were gently riffing on the incontinuities here and there and I realized...in this and other movies where Nazis "come back" to "finish the job" no one ever says what the "job" is. Hmmm... I don't know if it clicked for me. Despite being a late bloomer queer adult with a fucked up childhood, I did not have a big emotional response to this like everyone else I know seemed to. King Woman cameo was quite cool tho I love them

I fought against my bedtime to catch this tonight at the Tara as part of the current Taradrome series "Haunted Japan." I am really glad I did! I'm quite sleepy now and might have a terrible time at work tomorrow but life is short (even if this movie is very long) and I enjoyed taking it all in. I love the way folk stories tend to blend together the creepy, the tragic, and the humorous and Kwaidan successfully delivered all…
