great shots throughout, classic Park Chan-wook plot twists. didn’t expect such pornographic sex scenes, and really didn’t need them to prove the characters were lesbians.

A Real Pain 2024
unfortunately it was very surface level, sterile, bland, boring. pretty much all the characters felt weak, and some cringey (sorry kieran i love you, but not in this). the best part of the movie was the shot in the lobby of the last hotel, the the shot of kieran on the roof at the end of the scene with the red light.

not my fav Eggers. really loved the first half, a great pace and really amazing shots. but as much as i love Dafoe, things take a turn for me after his character’s introduction. Maybe it’s his particular portrayal of Pr Albin’s zany eccentric personality here that felt a bit disconnected from the rest of the performances here. Possibly because there was no build up to his introduction.
