Nickel Boys 2024
Fantastic but devastating. The first person view really forces the audience to empathize imo. Also really liked that it wasn't exploitative and did not spectacalize the violence experienced in the story. Very well made and I really liked the nonlinear engagement with memory.

A deeply tragic adaptation of Burrough's novella. Craig does not attempt to romantisize his pathetic yearning. He plays the man as he was a mess looking for anything to make him feel less alone. Addicton to another and how truly unsustainable and lonely it is when it is unrequited. Loved how simultaneously sweaty and cold this felt.(like someone who is dope sick) I'm not a Guadagnino fan but he seems to be in his element this year. The third act is fantastic imo.
