Bong Joon Ho got that blank check and made something that’s messy and strange, yet endearing and (sometimes) profound. Robert Pattinson’s performance and voice over are great—the film doesn’t work without him. The rest of the cast are fun and highly satirical, but unfortunately pretty weak generally. Overall while I wish the film was just a bit more focused, I think the zaniness contributes to film’s character and charm.

I traveled 60 miles to see this in IMAX at 10pm (no showings in MA) and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The 70th Anniversary of Godzilla couldn’t have received a better film.

The Brutalist 2024
While the first half is definitely stronger than the second, I found the film compelling throughout. Adrien Brody is fantastic as is the rest of the cast. An arresting film visually that falls flat thematically and story-wise towards the end. I believe it is an effective picture overall though.
Real talk: BRING BACK INTERMISSIONS! Getting up to use the bathroom and not worrying about missing anything was quite a liberating feeling.
