100th watch released in 2024, and a nice one to close (belatedly) the year on.
Not without creative flourishes, but a very simple exploration of a life lived and still living, with depth, perspective, and humor that elevates all the complexities of someone who has as high an approval rating as any famous person. It gets at the tension between the qualities that make someone both exceptionally "extraordinary" and "ordinary." Most documentaries like this try to achieve a version of that, but don't fully, and I think this one does.
