  I was indeed entertained.

  My least favourite bit was the opening battle, it seemed all over the place in terms of the actual filmmaking. Also there was quite a mix of aesthetic choices that felt a bit jarring for me.

  But, Joaquin fucking Phoenix is utterly incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad performance from him, he is an absolute revelation. Russel Crowe was great, Oliver Reed was wonderful. 

  Overall a cracking film and a good way to spend 149 minutes.

  
  Also did Hans Zimmer just recycle this soundtrack for Pirates of the Caribbean?? Fucking dead similar mate.
