The Iron Claw 2023
Before I sat down in the theater, all I knew about The Iron Claw was it was a wrestling moving and I was a little less than enthusiastic about seeing it. Zac Efron gave a surprising performance (plus, why does he suddenly look like that!?). Jeremy Allen White should just never attempt a southern accent for the remainder of his acting career. Overall, what I expected to be a kind of cheesy, retro wrestling movie (I actually thought it was supposed to be a comedy) turned out to be an emotional and moving story about a guy who just really wants to love his family.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005
Watched this one with the kids today after finishing the book with them. The Goblet of Fire feels like a pivot from the light-hearted wizarding world to a darker story of real evil, real risks, and a need for real heroes (even when the heroes don’t look like what we expect). The storyline is great but (I’m going to be that guy) it takes some deviations from the book that are pretty crucial and make it fall it a bit flat. I stan Michael Gambon.
