I love Ornette Coleman, probably more than I should. And I love the late 70s to 80s Prime Time-era Coleman a lot. So this is extremely up my alley, and not something I would just generally recommend, especially to someone who knows nothing of Coleman and his music. A Taxing Woman 1987
My dirty secret is that I love taxes. I like paying them, I like filing them, I like them conceptually; I’m just a tax fan, I truly can’t help it. This is almost assuredly the best movie about taxes that has ever or will ever be made. Theres a lot of good stuff here: the 80s jazz score is perfect, the pacing is brisk but not too chaotic to lose coherency, the performances are all great. Hell, this movie starts with a ten minute montage of people doing tax crimes. What more could you want?
