I like Shyamalan. I root for him, but he’s very hit or miss.

This was good. Josh Hartnett was really good. I liked the daughter. I liked the setting at the arena. I think what would’ve helped me was a little bit more context on the type of serial killer The Butcher is. My son is a huge fan of the DePalma-Pacino Scarface, so he wanted to see the movie it was remaking.

I was very surprised how very similar they are to each other. Scenes and even dialogue are in this movie that are iconic from the DePalma version.

One of my all time favorites. It's hilarious, has great action. A fun story. Great dialogue.

I love the idea that this is a martial arts adventure movie that focuses on the American partner, and not the hero. If you shift the focus to Wang, he's the actual hero you'd see in a regular martial arts movie like this. Jack is just the annoyingly loud American sidekick. But it's all told from his point of view. That's fun.

    Great movie.

Saw this in the theater.  Watched it numerous times on home video.  Just watched it again for the 30th anniversary on the Shout Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray.

I love this movie.  It’s so clever, and the 30s stylings are just perfect.  The dialogue is very 30s screwball comedy, lots of fast talking and quippy lines.  But also, they are delivered with a kind of earnestness, but also with tongue firmly in cheek.  It knows what it’s doing and it’s winking at…
