Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation 2015
A minor step up in the villain over Ghost Protocol but the gadgets and the heist in this one is a step down. You can feel them chasing a new high they got after the reaction to the Building climb in GH but hanging on the plane isn’t as visually dynamic to me. The chase in Morocco is fantastic and a real game changer for the the franchise but the absolute highlight of this movie is adding Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust who just eats this movie up whenever she’s on screen as the perfect femme fatale and sizzling match for Ethan Hunt.

This is where the franchise really takes off, it goes bigger than any of the previous movies but it stays true to itself with still being a sneaky spy movie. Flanagnesque in execution the movie does a good job of first and foremost making sure I give a damn about the main characters. Some nice creepy moments they really make the best of their PG-13 rating. Best cgi monster design I’ve seen since The Ritual
