Saw this on a stormy night at the Harvest Moon Drive, Gibson City, IL. Screen #2 was playing Jaws behind us to a meager collection of 10-15 cars. Twister was playing on Screen #1 to a sold-out audience. For Midwesterners, Twister beats Jaws any day.
This film feels like Jackie Brown if it were shot by Jack Horner from Boogie Nights. 1970s North Hollywood sleaze is on full display, and John Saxon manages to give a substantive performance. Much more substantive than the marketing might suggest.
