  A very silly-ass movie. Jack Quaid is likeable and so is his love interest.
  Sort of similar in tone to Happy! that Grant Morrison comic that was turned into a TV show. Just over the top violent slap stick.
  I didn't love it but I'm not mad I saw it.

  You gotta revoke my film nerd membership because I just don't like David Lynch. The one exception is Dune.
  I tried watching this movie and turned if off at the first appearance of Dennis Hopper and the whole ensuing bit. No thanks.
  And yeah I get what lynch is going for- exposition and set up using 50s type characters and then giving them these horrific private lives. Regan-era commentary etc. Etc.
  No thanks. Not for me.
  Don't watch this. It's not as artsy or cool as the reputation makes it out to be.

  I'm already a big fan of Haruki Murakami, so I was flipping around on Criterion and saw this movie based on one of his short stories listed.
  Great movie. Uses inferred narrative a lot. I think many American movies over explain things. This has a similar dread / beauty that Drive My Car had. Also based on a Murakami short story.
  Great understated movie. Great shots. Minimal music. Loved it.
