This film is presented by a lot of people as a trans story but if you ask me it's much more than that. It's a film about how patriarchy hurts all - men included. How ignoring your dreams to conform to what the society around you wants from you can cost you in the end.
Naturally, it faced a huge deal of backlash and censorship in Pakistan for "not representing [their] values" but remember that DEI is pro censorship everybody.
It definitely resonated with me and some of the people I've loved in my life. Not bad.
