Watched the Directors Cut
Setting wise, I should have loved this movie but I came away feeling like nothing was really that meaningful or memorable in the movie. Felt like Ridley Scott tried to make Gladiator but in a different time period and forgot all the reasons why Gladiator was so good. Contrasting the hypocrisy and sensibility of each respective religious group in the movie made it feel like a post-9/11 movie commissioned to influence public opinion during the Iraq war.

I always think “how long did this take” whenever I watch a claymation movie - and hearing how behind the scenes they were lucky to get 1 minute of film a week really let’s you appreciate the craftsmanship.
