This is undoubtedly a tough (yet important) movie to watch. The movie slowly builds up a strong sense of unesiness around your stomach.
I really like Mads Mikkelson as he is usually brilliant. Well, here he is nothing short of superb. He carries the movie in such a nuanced, sometimes darker, sometimes lighter, but always brave way.
I must say I did not love the ending though.
Overall more than worth the watch: crude, real and visceral.

I must say I was a bit disappointed.
Don't get me wrong, it is a damn good movie. I just feel it is one of those movies that suffers from a hiper hype which makes you go into it expecting the impossible (Oldboy comes close).
Or maybe it was just because I watched My Teacher Octopus the day before. Who knows?

This is truly an amazing anime movie. Breathtaking visuals and the story is a masterly delivered emotional punch (especially for a nostalgia addict like myself).
