Villeneuve has a unique and effective approach for how to convey scale in every aspect of a story—except for the story itself. I don’t really have a lot to say about this movie that I didn’t say for the first one, though maybe more disappointed this time around since the climax of the original dune is so cool, and the ending so interesting in terms of leaving things ambiguous, and I kinda felt like they blew it.
