Despite the hype, I went into this film with relatively low expectations, so I came out of it pleasantly surprised.
The animation is gorgeous and fun, opting for a comic-book, Spiderverse-esque style that works especially well with the film’s action sequences, which are entertaining, well-choreographed, and often have a good dose of the humor that the Shrek franchise is known for. The film's premise is simple: guy is torn between his best friend and his love interest. Except in this case the best friend is a sentient teddy bear who smokes pot, watches cartoons, and flirts with every woman he sees. The ensuing result is some raunchy stoner-bro shenanigans that follow familiar, predictable plot beats, but still manage to get some laughs out of the audience.
