    Although the standard sport biopic beats are executed capably enough, this gains half a star more for me from Barry Jenkins' script placing the Big Fight, which would normally be a sports film's climax, to the end of second act, and let the rest shade in rich, tough (but not excessively downbeat) details that real life doesn't end there. Bryan Tyree Henry unsurprisingly MVP.
