  through the absurdity there is clear disdain (in the case of the upper parisian class, police, etc) that buñuel carries in his films. while being an absolute fever dream of random events somehow connected, one thing stays consistent - the way he "exposes" the innards of absurdity of the acts of these people. from the monks being gamblers and heavy drinkers, to rich parents not seeing their child while she's in front of their eyes etc. much of his commentary…
