  Perfect movie, the little cat and the capybara  made me cry and I refuse to intellectualize this one! Watch this with an edible and a beer and then go swimming.

  Okay here we go. What was so bad about what Karla sai-

  Kidding, don’t worry. She sucks big time! I watched this movie depressed on a plane, so massive grains of salt but I actually kind of liked it? Absolutely 100% disagree with every single Oscar nomination it got and the surgery room song is genuinely shockingly bad, but kind of got into the “Latin- Shakespearean Mrs. Doubtfire” vibe. The Academy was all drunk, but went in expecting worse .

  Very powerful. The slow, languid way that the scenes between Alcala and his victims unfold gives the audience ample time to pass judgement on the monster, which provides a very refreshing counterpoint to other serial killer moves in which the killer is either a borderline supernatural figure or, worse still, somehow sympathetic. These monsters are dangerous sure, but at their base level they are pathetic, and Kendrick’s film allows the audience to come to both conclusions.
