A fantastic continuation of the amazing television series. Twin Peaks is high on my all time favourite TV list and this is such a great companion piece.

Quintessentially Lynch from start to finish and some of his most taboo and shocking scenes ever. Endlessly macabre and brutal.

It's by no means perfect and I often feel that some more of the Twin Peaks locals would have been welcome having some cameos, or a little more of the FBI investigation at the start, but equally that could have been too much. Guess it just works better as a TV show rather than a movie.

Once again the MCU turns out a film that is fine and just that really. It's a big ask to have the Sam Wilson character carry a whole film, despite some good building in the TV series. As with Wakanka Forever and The Marvels it feels much like we're going through the motions and crafting a light story around emotion or big set pieces.

There's no urgency to the MCU any more and it's making for very 'meh' cinema.

Where it doesn't go overboard on emotion makes it quite refreshing and definitely make me think a lot more rather than emote, and that's a rare and interesting reaction for me.

So the first third is damn near perfect, great set up that builds the story intently and sensibly. Nice call backs and builds some great tension.

The middle act starts well but isn't helped by some seriously over the top action pieces that don't build any tension because there's real stakes by this point.

And the end, well, I don't think they could have actually made any choice that would have been worse. There is so much fan service and…
