  if somebody had shown me this as a child then maybe i wouldn’t have written all 80s action films off as style over substance for so long. wasn’t expecting this to be so ahead of its time psychologically, and the anti-war subtext woven into it was just the icing on the cake. to manage all this while still being FUCKIN SICK?? hell yeah. also hell yeah to real explosions. and hell yeah to the sfx department. just hell yeah basically. hell yeah.
