Yes, I yelled at the tv a lot, but when you take out the graphic sex and most of Marianne’s behavior in the first episode, it’s not too bad.
At its best, Normal People is nostalgic, tender, and comforting. At its worst, it can be kind of icky, shallow, and hard to swallow.
Shoutout to Connell’s slutty little silver chain, Marianne’s effortless bang updos, and everyone who’s worked through a destructive relationship.
