Nichole Kidman tightens her stranglehold on erotic Christmas movies, and what can I say? I'm a slut for horny movies, of which we have far too few. This one squeezed all its 3.5-star-juice for me in Kidman's brave (and mostly believable in the face of some absurdity) performance, eliciting an enthusiastic "Hell yeah, Nichole Kidman" from me as she grunted like a feral beast on the floor. A Different Man 2024
I was surprised when the credits rolled to see this was both written and directed by the same person, as it feels often in conflict with itself tonally. What feels like a dark and surreal exploration of identity and self on the page received a decidedly more playful adaptation on set and in the edit, something like Kafka undertaking a novelization of "Tootsie."

Dog Man 2025
I don’t know how to rate this other than to say my 6 year old was very engrossed, even if he laughed a lot less than I might have guessed (fwiw, he gives it 3 stars out of 5 in his first stab at film criticism). Outside of anything else, I will always remember this as the first movie theater experience we made it all the way through; so, thanks Dog Man.
