By the third Leprechaun movie, it's completely embodied the straight-to-video horror genre with it's picture quality, soundtrack, and leading actor who is definitely below 21 and not pushing his 30s. That said, it's also amazing how in such a low quality film, it's also pretty entertaining and throws in a dash of social commentary (i.e. a victim of sexual assault, lack of health insurance just to name a couple), as well as cinematic parallels to movies like Videodrome and The Substance. Not to mention some genuinely "fun" kills. A movie as fun and seedy as Freemont Street in Las Vegas.
