I'm Still Here 2024
March Around the World 2025, Brazil 🇧🇷
Obviously, I didn't know anything about Brazilian politics going into I'm Still Here. But what is excruciatingly obvious from this film is, was just how brutal the dictatorship was in the 70s. The fact that this family had to accept the father being taken away from the family home without explanation, tells the whole story.
There are many films which just stand out as being expertly crafted. This is one of them.

4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days 2007
March Around the World 2025, Romania 🇷🇴
It was a truly powerful and exceptionally well-crafted film. The deliberate pacing and understated style kept me completely engaged in the story.
Throughout, there was always this feeling of dread, just waiting to surface. Yet Cristian Mungiu successfully maintained a realistic portrayal in 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days; I felt fully submerged in this experience.

The Celebration 1998
March Around the World 2025, Denmark 🇩🇰
That was wild! And that line, "That's all you were ever good for," will never, ever appear in a film with a much darker context than in The Celebration.
How do you describe this film to someone without giving any spoilers away, to illustrate how fuckin mental it is!??
Has to be watched, it's one of them WTF every 10 minutes or so films 🤯
