The movie probably would have been a lot better if it had just been about the group of monster hunters instead of having people from our world getting transported to theirs. There were a bunch of scenes where the camera would just jump around a lot but it really just made things disorienting when they didn’t need to be or already were without it. The movie didn’t really end either and it probably could have finished the last little quest they had to do if given 10 more minutes or something. Feels like the film was rushed overall

Sonic the Hedgehog 2020
Probably the second best video game movie behind the Yakuza movie (at the very start when they show a bunch of Sega games you can actually see Yakuza as well), though of course the competition isn’t that hard to beat. Full of current yet quickly passing social trends and phrases, the Emoji Movie does not really set itself up for a place to be remembered in the history of film.
If I had to say what the movie is about, I’d probably say “stereotypes are bad” however while actually brought up in the film there doesn’t really seem to be any sort of problem with “trolls” who are depicted as overweight balding men.

A four hour epic. There is only one point that I think the film drags a bit, and that is about three hours in and at that point you’ve already made an investment in the characters, not only that but it does make sense to drag at that point.
