  I like my films about romantic yearning to be big and lush, and this feels a little too understated. Hae Sung, especially, is a cipher. Even Nora fails to describe him in any depth, settling for, "He's just so Korean." He's a stand in for the idea of another life, what could've been if she'd stayed, one that most immigrants (especially ones who emigrated young) grapple with.

  One thing I did really like: The way the bit set in 2012…
