When you’re Joan Crawford in 1945 and you give a legend making performance, and all anyone wants is to see that little rascal Kay run about 1 more time, you too would become Joan Crawford. 

That’s all stupid but what isn't stupid is this script. The characterization. The acting. Loved so many choices made here. Some surprises and fun with editing, cinematography, and genuine suspense makes this incredibly entertaining and full of depth. 

We live in hope. 

Missed the whole ‘this loveable idiot has something to teach us cynics about happiness’ message when I watched this as a kid. But now I just see soft-core Red State Americana-porn: car culture, 2000s-era gay people jokes, and Kid Rock playing himself.

I believe that if I was a 13 year old boy in 1986 this movie would have rocked so hard.
