Very interesting short. Touches on aspects of the subject matter I hadn't thought about before, with a certain character's motive being much easier to empathize with and understand than usual in these types of stories.

Say Anything... 1989
Undeniably average (for me) but also pretty cute in spots. The simplicity of the premise- talk to your crush and things might happen - is what I love most about it. Was not expecting the money laundering subplot but it definitely made the second half interesting. Lloyd's ambition in life simply being that he wants to make his dream girl happy is king behavior.

Just Before Dawn 1981
More flawed than I remember it being on first watch two years ago, but the magic of that first viewing- my expectations being totally blown by the clever storytelling & character depth on display- will never leave me. Next time around I'll have to watch the extended cut, just to see what the differences are.
