The chief complaint resurfacing from my sea of regrets about watching this film is the waste of an interesting premise. Like the mirage of an island, my sheer desire for the promising plot to succeed kept me hoping when I should have accepted that I was, in fact, going to drown in an endless ocean of poor cinematic choices. Is this dramatic? Sure. But so is executing multiple men with a nail gun. (We will circle back to that.)
