The interesting stuff gets dropped half way through in favor of set peice action slop. The set peice action is kind of cool, but I was really looking forward to an expansion of the ideas from the first half, rather than what the movie became in the second.
Feels kind of unfocused and all over the place when the credits roll.
There's only so much disappointment I can endure
Much like the book it's based on, Dune is at its best when you sit back and allow it to wash over you completely. Allow yourself to be immersed in the universe. Stand in awe at the immense scale of the world and the story that takes place within it.
Nothing substantial has been changed, and what has been omitted would not have added much to begin with. The pace is brisk, something is always happening. Every actor performs their characters exactly the way I imagined them to be from the book. This is truly the adaptation fans of Dune have been waiting for.
