Eight Hours Don’t Make a Day 1972
falling asleep, waking up. eating together. sharing a bathroom. painting the walls. negotiating rent. lathe, drill, acid, lubricant. Leonard Cohen, Velvet Underground. going dancing. hanging out with your grandma. childcare.
cabbage rolls, alcohol, sweat, skin. drinking too much, singing, passing out, waking to find you’re being carried by friends. coffee, schnapps. the moment you look at your partner and you know you’ll never fully know them at all.
a blooming rose, eaten whole. a weeknight dinner where nothing special happens. being hungover. a gray sky. flowers, flowers, flowers, flowers.
