Saw this in class. I remember the reflection my teacher had, and I think I've never been more manipulated. By both the teacher and the movie. Maybe if the movie wasn't trying so hard to make me feel, I would have felt something.
I do think that the nature of it being a short-film is a major cause of this. If it had the opportunity to work its message in a more natural way it would break me.
Great cinematography though. I can't help it, I will always love a circus movie.
