Addicted to giving new releases 4 stars. DEFEAT THE PATTERN 5 STARS* MOVIE GOOD.
Big points for cool aliens, btw, but that's not really the focus here. Where I land on the scifi ruminations (adjusts glasses connoisseurly) is sometimes I am irked by cartoonish atmosphere, but in this case feel it's a cohesive enough package that the comedy and the notions manage to amplify one another. Not easy to make work, imo. Bong threads the needle, Robbie cooks. Yo STEVE YEUN cooks, too. I love him.

The only thing I'd heard about this movie was to watch for repeated, distracting, egregious misuse of a ps5 controller. I (epic gamer) can confirm that Mark Eidelstein is handling that puppy like someone who has possibly never played a video game even once. Remarkable, for a 22 year-old boy.
