Sunday catch-up post. Pointless-story-short: I double-F'd sunday with Last Crusade, got tired, no Verdict post, watched Lincoln (best movie of all time by the way), lost the spirit to write medium things about an iconic courtroom movie I only almost entirely loved. Newman deadbeatlawyerwhatsnottolove see I still don't have it.

Unbelievable. What a picture. Sir Daniel's a goddamn freak. The moment he opens his mouth I'm melting. Drowning in that mousy dirt farmin' lawyer drawl. Leaned in as far as my spine will allow at every whimsical anecdote. You are in an angry rush, Lincoln is not. Addicted to giving new releases 4 stars. DEFEAT THE PATTERN 5 STARS* MOVIE GOOD.

Big points for cool aliens, btw, but that's not really the focus here. Where I land on the scifi ruminations (adjusts glasses connoisseurly) is sometimes I am irked by cartoonish atmosphere, but in this case feel it's a cohesive enough package that the comedy and the notions manage to amplify one another. Not easy to make work, imo. Bong threads the needle, Robbie cooks. Yo STEVE YEUN cooks, too. I love him.

*Rating to follow sometimes I feel like seeing stars is spoily on its own
