There are some truly creative and visually stunning moments in this movie (the magazines, Valak’s image on the peeling/deteriorating wall) but unfortunately, those moments don’t make up for a very dull story full of jump scares and annoying little French girls

the dialogue wasn’t terribly great considering how many talented actors were cast, and the ending was just so very underwhelming. I guess it was supposed to make you feel like the entire movie wasn’t actually a waste of time, and that the guilty person could end up being punished? I thought that was what this movie was going to be about though…you know, telling the truth/making difficult choices, because in the end you believe in doing what’s right?

Weird, upsetting, and kind of baffling that we’re shown how he’s retired now and making glass art and puttering around? It seems obvious that he did something that wasn’t right (he admits to omitting information quite a few times, attempts to hypnotize someone after a serious injury before a nurse can attend to them and then admits that wasn’t at all appropriate) so at the end of the day, why are we so heavily focusing on his side of the story?
