How can you be this close and this far at the same time?
If it's going to play out with this much seriousness then the screenplay simply must be examined with the same attention to detail that's put into the presentation of it. It's frustrating, not just because we all want a movie like this to be good, but because audiences are not stupid. This is a Conjuring Universe film wrapped very tightly in a sleek designer jacket.

This is going to get lost in the Netflix sea of unmarketed garbage and it really shouldn't.
Maybe some trouble with losing steam after the big turning point in the middle, and a little clumsy in moments afterwards, but never gives up cohesion for cliche.
There's restraint, and that's what makes good slow-burn thrillers work.
