Watched again on the biggest IMAX screen in the world. A religious experience, fuck the haters
Dry, uninspiring, and completely overblown. A highly conventional piece of melodrama that tries so hard to be something more.
Watched the first episode and certainly did not feel like watching any more.
A man stands in a bar alone, surrounded by song and dance. He looks around longingly, aching to be part of the merry and willing the optimistic atmosphere to envelop him. He yearns for just this sliver of normality, a slight reprieve from the isolated struggle that pervades his everyday life; yet, he knows this will never be the case—not as long as the Germans occupy France. The bombs bursting outside remind him that he has a job to do.…
