Late 90s early 00s sentimental movie boy shit perfection. A wonderous vibration stuffed with easy chewin' up and downs, good characters, good humor and a few brilliant scenes. A barrage of cathartic wrap ups to close are of the best-in-the-biz varietal. The film's content is nostalgic celebration of a past artistic movement, and with age the film itself has now become a nostalgic celebration of a different past artistic movement. Made for a lovely afternoon while I am inside and sick.

This is such a special movie. There's so many things captured here that I've never seen captured anywhere else. I've seen this four times now and I still watch the fucking omelette scene mouth gaped. In my mind Alma and Reynolds are two of the best characters ever penned. And probably my favorite score of all time? Shape of Water my ass.

This is... Confusing. I'm honestly still unsure whether or not it's a comedy. It's definitely not funny, I know that for sure, but I have no idea if it was supposed to be. Could be this is all lost in translation or just lost on me, I think it's supposed to be a parody of the Mexican Narco B-movies, but I'm unfamiliar with the genre. When it seems to be intentionally silly is when it's fine, and when it seems to be taking itself seriously is when it's unintentionally silly. I got nothing from it, but potentially 100% of this went way over my head.
