Hopkins is ripe for this mysterious stranger role in a pretty solid Stephen King setup. And a young Anton Yelchin steals the show.
One of those films I wish would have gone a bit deeper. It just stays too surface level in its strangeness and thesis.
Some pretty interesting moments and Hopkins ramblings about time and the future. And the magician scene with Alan Tudyk where we start to learn of this boy’s…

Had no clue where this was going so I was fairly taken off guard by the last 15 minutes. All told, it’s a pretty cynical affair with plenty of melodrama and frequently plays like a soap opera.
Sinatra has a blast and plays the drunk too well. Engrossing enough story that I can see why it’s a classic.

Unbelievable monster blockbuster with a legit tear-jerking human story. This is what’s missing from all our blockbuster films: really good human drama and performances.
Saw it on the IMAX, went deaf a few times, and just soaked up the rage-fueled mega monster. He’s a bad dude. The first fight on the water was just amazing. Nothing ever beats the big screen.
Not gonna lie, I cried at the end. Bowled over by this. Top 5 of the year for me.…
