    This film is a masterpiece.

    You heard that right.

A stunning tribute to David Lynch that takes a distorted look of Los Angeles and the people that want to succeed there.

And a struggling, lonely man that is searching for ANY type of purpose.

What happens when Charlie Kaufman and Andrei Tarkovsky consume a disassociative psychedelic, then sit down to enjoy some tea and an afternoon play.

Oh yeah, and then one of them has a panic attack and a bum shits in the street

As a horror film, it's deeply disturbing and hard to sit through on first viewing. But it's not really a horror film. It's a reflective dark comedy examining Von Triers work and his treatment of women in cinema. Matt Dillon fills in for Lars and plays every note to perfection, he seems a bit on the spectrum(I am, so don't judge), overwhelmed by his compulsive behavior and desperate to be understood. By the time you get to the crazy magic…

Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid are bonafide movie stars. Sophie's rise of emotion through her face should be studied by aspiring actors, there are so many subtle details that come through her eyes and lips. Iris's journey from subservient doll to a powerful individual with her own agenda is beautiful. Jack Quaid fully conveys the charm and humor of a narcissist. You want to love Josh, but deep down, you know there's nothing there. Acting was the highlight for me.

    Great debut from Drew Hancock.
