This is honestly one of the worse movies I’ve seen in theaters. It was not good. They blew the costume budget on period-accurate high waisted black men’s wrestling trunks in the first ten minutes and it was Ross dress for less for all the rest.
They kept dropping in wrestling terms they didn’t even really need to and then someone would say “kayfabe? what’s that?” and a wrestler would come in to explain point blank to an audience. This happened…
EDIT: yall really all thought this story was about fan behavior… critical thinking skills have never been more needed…
One of my favorite King novels. And what a performance from Bates, I mean, my god. I think the movie was bolstered by my knowledge of the book, but the movie… not as good. I hated the ending. Horrible pace, but very much a product of the late 80s (1990, technically).
It really just made me want to read the book…
I was so stoned the entire time watching this movie and it fucking rocked. about halfway through it clicked for me and I was like… hell yes. it’s like if a buffy the vampire slayer monster of the week demon motorcycle gang got a high budget makeover and also nic cage was there
This was so funny I can’t stop thinking about random bits from it and laughing out loud again. Surprisingly touching- perfectly blended earnest emotion with comedy. Which, well… that’s the whole thing. I mean that’s literally her bit. Ugh. Can’t stop thinking about it. Need to see it again already but this was the last showing in my town.
