Charming, clever, witty and jarring. Really enjoyed this irreverent take on Nazi youth camps, and the inner musings of a young boy attending such.
Some of the performances are a little odd, but for me it just added to the mix of odd scenarios and ethics a young boy is being exposed too in that environment.
Don't watch the trailer, it gives away to much.
I'm not really into WWE, but love this movie. A very complete story without the Hollywood bells and whistles that so often ruin movies. This movie builds from the dust up, while maintaining a firm hold of life in the dust that refreshingly grounds this movie on plausibility. It's so very believable, and knowing what I do about life in the "dust" in the UK, it acts as a great snapshot into that culture, which is rarely adequately portrayed in movies. There's so much character on show, unlined by a whitty and hilarious undertone that permiates the culture.
Excellent balance in sorry telling, to pack the right punch, highlighting an atrocity that is happening outside of law with the backing of the USA government. Hypocrisy at its worst, told through the eyes of the abused.
The medium being used for its intended purpose, to be the cause of change. Watch and let it change you if needed.
Harking back to the ol' 90s shoot'em ups feel, but completely left field story and style. Throws you in at the deep end and makes you work to comprehend, then euphoria once you catch the drift and back track everything you thought you knew. Enjoyable 2nd or even 3rd time through. My wonder is if they could do this Matrix style genre with less shooting, and more imaginative engagement methods. Why does all this action stuff have to include so much violence, especially with guns?
