  Fantastic ride the whole way through, especially great with people who haven’t seen it before. And it really holds up on rewatch. Last rewatch, I appreciated the music (still inexplicably my favorite movie soundtrack). This time, it was the fantastic editing. Superb.

  This is Herzog fanfiction, really to the T. It has:
  - Human striving for meaning through a feat of skill/art
  - The relationship between the Wild and Civilization, with a crippling desire to abandon the man-world for nature
  - Madness
  - The Ecstatic Truth 
  - In other words, a dubious connection to the truth

  Honestly, fuck it, I’m adding this to my Herzog ranked list.

  First half, about the modern history of astronomy, was pretty interesting. I knew a lot of it already, but I liked the presentation. The second half lost me, though.
