A free wheeling vibe fest that I thoroughly enjoyed, held down by Welles' inimitable narration
What really struck me about Eggers' earlier works is the way his characters' beliefs informed their reality. The Witch and Northmen both created a lot of tension by putting things in the perspective of their characters, and then leaving the audience to parse the unreliability of those perspectives. Maybe it's because I'm on a bit of a Sondheim kick but this really hit for me. An excellent use of 53 minutes.
