My least favourite film in the franchise. I’m glad there wasn’t another love triangle. Tom Blyth, Viola Davis and Peter Dinklage all give good performances. Lucky Flickerman is funny. I wasn’t bored and I was intrigued to see where the story would progress. The score is also good.

But onto my many flaws with this prequel. Lucy Gray Baird (stupid name) was annoying and felt underdeveloped. Rachel Zegler is a good singer - but there was way too much singing…

Boring, not very scary, and the commentary/messaging was uninteresting to me. I had similar problems with Dune, Prometheus, After Earth, The Host, Signs. I disagree with the people saying that Jordan Peele is the next Steven Speilberg. I think he’s heading more towards being the next M. Night Shyamalan - and this is Peele’s Signs or The Village. I’m not a big sci-fi fan. So people who are might enjoy this more than I did.

Everything you want in a Christmas romcom. Funny, romantic, heartfelt, upbeat and Christmasy enough. It’s also progressive, the love triangle was well done, and the cast is excellent; Jennifer Coolidge is a national treasure. Though maybe a tad too much meddling and it was a missed opportunity not to use Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas’. Single All The Way is a new annual classic.
