  Bong Joon Ho’s seething and obvious contempt for the rich and powerful will always be VERY welcome for me. Mickey 17 delivered that with its full chest. Also a loooot of funny moments and some earnest rage perfectly coupled per usual. He’s having fun with this one and therefore, of course, so are we!

  I had a fun time with this. Sure the subject matter can provoke discussion on the complexities and implications of modernity and progress versus tradition in Catholicism or society generally. However, I was having a better time enjoying the pomp and reverie in the dramatization of it all. There were some shots that were so mesmerizing (the cigarettes, the white umbrellas) and the tension that undergirds the film made it a very fun and easy watch.
