  In this film we see interesting intermingling of thoughts, memories and realties; past, present and anticipation. Whose thoughts are these? Whose memories are these? Whose realities are these? Which ones are past? Which ones are present? Who's anticipating what? We do not know. We need not know. We are blessed that we can experience it, feel it. It’s a test to this ever becoming mechanical world. If you can feel anything at all from this film, congratulations, you are a human being. Thank you Kaufman.

  I'd hate Kaufman if I hadn’t seen 'Synecdoche, New York' first. Before watching the movie I decided to read the book and boy was it good! 'The Orchid Thief' immediately made me fall in love with flowers. But what Kaufman did with the book disappointed me. It’s not a bad film but it’s way behind what I expected. It's not a film about flowers at all. It’s about Kaufman's own struggle and actually pretty much artificially plot-driven. The only thing I like about this film is how Jonze directed it. He successfully made the emotions look real.
